What a great season
Drewmain FIrefly is having so far. He is by the thoroughbred
Trevaney Sea Heir out of an Intermediate event mare,
Columbcille Penny who is by
Paris Lights and trained and competed by
Kitty King. We bought his dam,
Penny, in 2010 from
Charles Upham at
Langaller Stud as an in foal broodmare because we really loved her breeding and the fact she was in foal to
Charles's lovely thoroughbred stallion who is now unfortunately deceased. He was born in June the following year and at only 6 years old has stepped up to Novice quite easily, even winning at Mount Ballan last month. He is taking a short break following a fantastic round at Nunney International where he finished on his dressage score with just a couple of time faults XC. He still finds it tricky to gallop downhill so
Kitty doesn't push him at this stage in his career. We can't wait to see him out again and we are hopeful he will step up to 1* before the end of this season.
